77TH MOUNTAIN STATE FOREST FESTIVAL
Virtual Cache/Reverse Cache Event
July 1, 2013 – September 23, 2013
Description of Event:
In the past, this activity was based on finding a geocache location with a GPS unit. A geocache generally consists of a small waterproof container containing a log book, clues, or objects such as puzzle pieces or personal items to trade. This year, the event will be focused on finding a virtual cache and reverse cache. A virtual cache will consist of natural landmarks or buildings. For the reverse cache, a detailed description of the area will be provided, and you must go to the location and log the coordinates and take a picture of yourself.
This event will have two components, three caches located within the Elkins City limits and four caches which will require a small amount drive time to find. Completed forms must be submitted to the Mountain State Forest Festival Office during business hours.
If you successfully complete four caches, you will receive a voucher for 10% off at the Forest Festival Store and will be entered into the drawing for a prize.
