Grand Feature Parade
Description:
Tens of thousands of spectators align the streets of downtown Elkins for the largest parade in the state of West Virginia. The two-hour, two-mile parade features dozens of bands, floats, dignitaries and special units. The Toronto Metropolitan Police Winged Wheels of Canada make their only parade appearance in the United States at the Mountain State Forest Festival.
Bands scheduled to march in the parade include Elkins High School, Elkins Middle School.
At 5:00 approximately 20 bands will compete in the Spectacle of Bands High School Band Field Competition. Bands from across West Virginia will compete for top honors in their class and the opportunity to take home the Grand Champion trophy and be named the Official Honor Band for the 2011 festival.
