Kelly Thompson will be serving her second year as a Queen's Department assistant, having previously served on the Minor Court, Children's Parade, Decorating and Windows committees. Thompson is a third-grade teacher at Midland Elementary School and is also a member of the American Federation of Teachers. She and her husband, Todd, are the parents of two daughters, Emily and Alyssa. Thompson's daughter, Alyssa, served as crown bearer in 2005.
